Envicool XSpace Powers the Green Operation of a 10,000-Card Computing Cluster at China Telecom's Lingang Artificial Intelligence Data Center

10-23, 2024

The Phase 1.2 server building of China Telecom's Lingang AI Data Center has recently been topped out, meaning that, as the largest operator-level computing power resource in the Yangtze River Delta, it is about to usher in the era of 100,000 computing cards.

The Envicool XSpace Modular Data Center Solution has been deployed at the Lingang Artificial Intelligence Data Center to facilitate green operations. Previously, Envicool ranked first in the bid share in China Telecom's flexible DC cabin procurement project, of which the Lingang Artificial Intelligence Data Center is a key component.

Flexible Deployment of the XSpace Solution in 10,000-Card Computing Cluster

It is reported that the computing cluster built at the Lingang Artificial Intelligence Data Center has a unit computing power consumption of less than 1.5 kilowatts, far exceeding the policy requirement of over 10% energy savings. The Envicool XSpace modular data center solution has been deployed at the Lingang Artificial Intelligence Data Center, greatly improving cooling efficiency and ultimately achieving a PUE of less than 1.25.

The Envicool XSpace modular data center solution adopts tis designed for compatibility with multiple cooling solutions, taking into account the planning and layout of the physical space of the computer room for multiple cooling solutions in advance, and flexibly adapting to multiple solutions such as full air cooling, air-liquid hybrid, and full liquid cooling.

The air-conditioning terminal adopts a flexible construction plan, seamlessly connects general computing and intelligent computing, reserves spatial routing for liquid cooling cold sources and loops, matches the total amount, reserves pipelines, and implements in phases to adapt to the deployment needs of high-power density equipment.

The Envicool XSpace uses air-cooled servers in its initial construction, which can be upgraded to in-row air conditioning and cold plate liquid cooling solutions in the future to meet the needs of high-density liquid cooling servers, reducing upgrade costs and quickly respond to business needs.

Energy-efficient & Intelligent, Innovative Technology to Optimize

With modular design, the Envicool XSpace Modular Data Center Solution integrates all system's sub-components, increasing the space utilization of the server room by 50%. It covers a series of technical innovations such as cooling, throttling, air ducts, and refrigerants. For example, the in-row air conditioner applies three-dimensional air duct dynamic temperature averaging, refrigerant leakage intelligent monitoring and other innovative technologies. These technical innovations, from application components to intelligent tuning of the whole machine, achieve high efficiency throughout the year, save 40%-70% of energy, and enable the server room to meet the first-level energy efficiency standards.

Strategic Deployment of "East Data West Computing" to Drive Computing Power Development

As a national integrated big data center, China Telecom's intelligent computing public service platform, domestic GPU innovation joint base, and Tianyi Cloud core node, the Lingang Artificial Intelligence Data Center has become an important node in the intelligent computing strategy.

As a leader in precise temperature management and energy efficiency, Envicool continues to meet evolving customer demands. The application of related low-carbon cooling solutions has fully covered the ten clusters of the eight "East Data West Computing" hubs, including Zhongwei Cluster, Qingyang Cluster, Zhangjiakou Cluster, Gui'an Cluster, Horqin Cluster, Yangtze River Delta Cluster, Tianfu Cluster, Chongqing Cluster, Wuhu Cluster, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Shaoguan Cluster, etc.

In the future, Envicool will continue embracing "More Than Cooling" as our mission and promote the high-quality, sustainable development of data center computing power through advanced thermal management technology.
